Swarthmore Residence
This residence's landscapes and hardscapes were originally designed by J. Franklin Styer and lasted for almost 100 years. When we were contacted to come see the property, our team of designers knew the importance of keeping within the historic context of this stately home. Plant material like boxwoods, ferns, hydrangea espaliers, hollies and dogwoods were all part of this landscape renovation. Bluestone, Wissahickon schist stone and reclaimed brick were used to match the existing exterior and the already beautifully aged terraces and grotto.
